Residence ' 5 '
Design 1994-1996
Windmill Country Club, Thailand
1,500 square meters
Steel frame, glass and composite panels
The site of the Rachanee Residence
borders the Windmill Golf and Country
Club at the intersection of two klongs.
The logic of this house design stems from
a necessity to create living spaces that
are interactive, functioning simultaneously
for multiple uses and users. To accomplish
this, all the surfaces of the house are
de compartmentalized to allow spaces
to overlap in layers. The method of
de compartmentalization is to create an
architectural interaction between the walls,
floors, ceilings, columns and beams by
assembling them in visible layers rather
than as a homogenous shell.
